Get Answers to Your House Cleaner Questions

After having my third child and returning to work, my husband and I decided to hire a house cleaner. Between the both of us working full-time and three children to take care of, we simply did not have the time to clean our house. While I loved the idea of having a house cleaner, my mind quickly began racing with questions that I did not have the answers to. I wondered how much of my stuff should I put away before the house cleaner came, what all would the house cleaner clean, and if I should hide paperwork, such as bills. I did a lot of research to get the answers to my questions. I started this website because I know there are others like me out there who need a house cleaner, but may have many questions about using one. I created this site to help these people get answers.

4 Ways To Avoid A Bad Experience When Moving Out Of State

Whether you are looking for a change in scenery or were offered a new job, moving to another state can be an exciting time filled with plenty of new opportunities. The first challenge of such a big transition in your life, however, is getting there safely. If you have a family, pets, or belongings you intend on keeping, you cannot simply fly there and settle down.

Instead, you will need to take some time to explore how you can best use the services of a moving company that has experience with out of state moves. To avoid some common issues people experience while moving a long distance, take a look at what you can do ahead of time.

Take Inventory to Narrow Down What to Bring

Figuring out what to bring for your move and what to leave behind can be confusing, especially if you have lived in the same place for years and accumulated a lot of stuff. Instead of bringing everything and needing to rent an even larger moving truck then you can afford or leaving a lot behind and being unhappy when you arrive to your new home, you will need to find a good balance.

Putting together an inventory of your belongings can make it easier to figure out exactly what you should bring and what is better off being sold, donated, or thrown away.

Check if the Moving Company Will Subcontract the Move

When a customer is moving out of state, some moving companies will subcontract the move to another or several companies. This could lead to your belongings being divided up and arriving at separate times—leading to a higher risk of items being lost or damaged. Before signing any contracts, check if this will be the case before moving forward.

Discuss the Process and the Expected Delivery Date

The date that your items will arrive can vary based on the distance of your move, the season, and the moving company itself. Make sure to double check when you can expect your items at your new home so that there are no surprises.

Consider Your Options for the Drive Itself

Even with the help of a hired moving company, you will need to make arrangements for how you are going to arrive at your new home. This can get even more complicated with children and pets in mind. Whether you want to tow your car behind a rented van or plan on driving in your car, you will need to make these plans and get your car in good working order ahead of time—including checking the battery, refilling fluids, and replacing the tires if needed.

Taking your time checking out your options and making preparations well ahead of time should make a big difference in your satisfaction with the upcoming move.
